Did Jay-Z annd Beyonce start a black entertainment marriage trend.

I don't think Bobby Brown and Whitney meant to start a trend when they got married in the 90's. They are now getting divorced but they were the Jackie Robinson of black power couples. I think Alicia Keys might want to remake that song called "Unbreakable" that was on her latest album. She just about jinxed every pair she named in that song. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are the lastest to get hitched. Nick Cannon just hit the lotto on this one. He just about topped the achievements of Jermaine Dupree. Jermaine might propose as we speak just to go ahead. What was Mariah thinking? Nick Cannon is no Denzel girl. Jay-Z and Beyonce have the best shot of making it past 5 years. My prediction is that Nick will become the black K-Fed. He just has to knock her up quickly and forever be in her life. It's a shame that people are getting married for publicity reasons. 40Master

Lupe Fiasco and co. invade N.Y.C.

This young talented brother is the opening act in Kanye West's "Glow In The Dark" tour. He might be warming up the stage for Kanye but he is a superstar in his own right. He has hinted that his next album might be his last. This tuesday the tour will be making a stop at "Madison Square Garden". On wednesday night they will hit S.O.B's in Manhattan. He might not be selling like 50 cent but then again he's not a marketing ploy like fitty. I think the truest form of Hip-hop will always survive the trends and fads. True Hip-hop and creativity will outlive the commercialism ploys that invade the culture every now and then. Flo-rider is one example of that. Where has he been? The elevator cord must of snapped. E.G's co-host AC has that type of talent that can transcend race while still representing his heritage. Did you know that Lupe, Kanye and Pharrell willams formed a group in 2007 called "Child rebel Soldier".

LIl Weezy (The Predator) has to be the most overrated rapper ever.

Rapper Lil Wayne is getting alot of radio airplay which makes it really annoying. Every 5 seconds his records are getting played. First of all he looks like "The Predator" and his flow is wack. Can somebody please call "The Governator" and ask him to take him out. That cough medicine might be damaging his voice because he sounds like a frog. This guy is severely overrated and sounds like he has pleghm. I would rather hear K-Fed rap about his kids. Anybody who hangs out with a dude that calls himself "Baby" deserves to get locked up. May the judge be easy with him but sentence him to do communtiy service in Angola. I'm out. 40Master

The Puerto Rican day parade is next month..

Every second sunday of June, Puerto Ricans from all 5 boroughs and beyond migrate to Manhattan to help celebrate Puerto Rican heritage. The crowds are always loud with their pride as the many floats ride by the parade route. It is the biggest parade in N.Y.C. You can hear salsa music booming from all over as the people joyously dance on the sidewalks. To get a good view some families arrive really early so that they can catch a good glimpse or more. I don't know if they still sell food anymore but i remember when they use to have dollar shots. I always brought beer in a bag pack along with Ras so we were always tipsy. One year we went i went to take a leak in the bushes and during that time Fat Joe came up to Ras and chatted with him. Can you believe i missed that encounter because i was peeing a river. I say river because a midget almost drowned in my pee. I think i also killed off the bush. Their are always a few knuckledhead gangs that parade around representing themselves. E.G will be representing hard so look out for the float. 40Master

New York Attorney general Andrew Cuomo is going after Film piracy.

As we know bootlegging is illegal and it cost the state about 2 billion dollars a year. N.Y Attorney General Andrew Cuomo yesterday had a press conference and proposed stiffer penalties to those who get caught. First time offenders would face up to a year in jail and repeat offenders will get charged with a felony. I must confess that i do purchase these kind of movies and am watching one right now. With everything in this country going up i feel that there should be a compromise on movie ticket prices. I can't afford to buy gas, milk, rice, beer, cigarettes and watch a 10.00 dollar movie. Can i atleast catch a little more than just a preview for 2 bucks or just show me the ending. This will affect us all in the minority community. This also means that Africans, West Indians and the Chinese would be out of work meng. The clarity of the bootleg does'nt bother me at all, i find it amusing when the audience laughs or you see people standing up to go use the bathroom while illegal filming is taking place. Their needs to be a common ground, the Goverment should throw us some freetickets with that rebate check meng. What do you think? Let me know. 40Master

One 40/40 man visits another 40/40 man

Two major New York celebrities hung out together. New York Yankee slugger Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez went to the 40/40 club to hang out with Jay-Z. New England quarteback Tom Brady was also there though who cares about him since Boston sucks. After performing at his concert at Madison Square Jay-Z hosted a bash at his club. It looks like they had alot of fun and A-Rod and Jay took a picture together. My only problem with this is that A-Rod is currently on the disabled list for injuring his quad muscle. Do you think ownership is going to rip him? He better behave his stripper loving self. He just had a baby too, oh no he did'nt. A-Rod and myself happen to share the same last name and that's it. I'm neither tall, dark or handsome and i'm broke. Anyway my people i'm out. 40Master

We have become immuned to pain with no gains.

This creative energy causes my imagination to expand, to depths that uplifts my writings into unimaginable heights known to man. One thought is all i need to alter myself from a desolute place, one tear paves the way for my anger to be the driving force for changes to blend in without a trace. I see the world from a different perspective that differs from usual politics, my soul within cries out when i hear our young soldiers dying for a politicians self-absorbing motive. These political whores recruit soldiers from the poor to fight their wars, meanwhile their locking us up longer than murderers on these problematic Rockefeller laws. Shall we cease to exist and further ourselves with the practices of Jesus, spoil our temptations with riches that can't come with us when we head towards our eternal rest. Natures fury has unleashed a devastation of biblical proportion, mimicing that of Gods tears as he sees our beliefs taking part in a faith type aborttion. Jealousy turns homicidal when its stranglehold on its relationships stops it from breathing, leaving many a child behind with graphic memories and a lifetime of grieving. Since when did this soil become tainted, having their grief being smeared by blood that's lamented? We have gotten immuned to pain with no gains, struggling to drop yet another tear when another dies invain. I guess mankind taught us all how to shun, though the revolution will only mobilize when our future no longer runs. Migente, joing the movement. One love 40master

Platinum chains are not forever.

Mayhem breaks out as rapper 50 cent is jacked for his chain in Angola, South Africa. G-Unit was performing a concert in Angola when a Shaka Zulu ran up on stage and yanked his chain and ran lol. I seened the footage and could of sworn Fat Joe was in the crowd if it weren't for the fact that the average weight of the people in that concert is barely over 90pds. First of all, i'm suprised that they even wore clothes and did'nt spear him. Close sources say that it doesn't look as if rapper Faboulous or his crew were invloved. That guy must be lifting serious weights to grab the chain and dart off. I don't blame the guy, he probaly eating 2 ounces of rice daily. FatJoe is going to captilize on this moment. Where were fittys police security detail. Where is the Rev. Al Sharpton when you need him meng. Anyway i'll keep you updated on this breaking news story. 40Master

"The Roots" are ten albums deep and counting.

"The Roots" are slated to perform this friday at Radio City Music Hall with guest Erykah Badu. This iconic group which recently released their 10th album called "Rising Down" last tuesday are disgusted with the current state of Hip-hop. Drummer Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson is quoted as saying " Hip-hop is like a 34 year old single woman with two children right now". Basically what he is saying is that their is no excitement and there is really noone talking about serious political issues at this time. The Roots are very talented and are politically conscience. I give them lots of praise for being a positive driving force for all these years. Ten albums deep and still going strong. Anyway migente i'm out. 40Master

Rapper Foxy Brown has been hit with a new suit.

Foxy Brown who recently got out of jail was hit with a new lawsuit. As you might recall that Foxy assaulted one of her neighbors by hitting her in the face with a Blackberry last August. The chicken has come home to roost again. Arlene Raymond is suing Foxy over that and another incident which took place at her workplace. She alleges that Foxy showed up to her job and called her a "bitch" in front of her co-workers. I do not doubt that claim since Foxy is rap's Naomi Campbell. At this rate we'll have no more female rappers. When did these females want to become men. They do have strap-on dildos for these chicks. What is this world coming too? Anyway, enough about this nonsense. 40Master

Did the stigma of gangster rap kill Sean Bell?

Perception should not be an excuse to kill another human being. Sadly there are many minority men who were victims of injustice before Sean Bell. Though i think his death will bring about a change in police tactics that should have been put in place along time ago. To say that they were innocent is to say that i regret the day my daughter was born. I think boycotting and civil disobedience is the right thing to do. To disrupt commerce is to speak out and be heard. If money makes the world go round then you need to stop that axis. That strip club they visited on that fateful night is the seed that sadly represents Hip-hop these days. The elements of drugs, violence, music, strippers and alcohol seem to fuel the desires of what we think of as cool. We need to check ourselves and unite in cleaning out this display of evil. I include those officers who recklessly killed Sean Bell and shot his friends. R.I.P Sean Bell and we all are Sean Bell. He was a son, father and was about to become a husband. In loving memory 40master

Graffiti: An art form or Vandalism.

Film maker Jon Reiss is coming out with a documentary called "Bomb it" and it's about global graffiti. In it he explores the different social, marketing and political issues of graffiti. The film travels all around the globe from places like L.A, N.Y, London, Tokyo, Capetown, etc. It docments how different writers from different cultures incorporate graffiti into their daily lives. Around 200 graffiti artist were interviewed for the documentary. The film maker also spoke with Goverment officials from those places like T.A.G (Totally against graffiti). The film sounds interesting for the mere fact that it's not just about getting hood fame. I'ts cool that there is more than one way to deliver a message. 40Master

What do the Pope and 50 cent have in common?

They both drive around in armored automobiles and both live in big estates. I do think 50 cent egdes him in the security department. Pope Benedict XVI was in New York City this past weekend promoting peace, prosperity and telling other priest to lay off our children. He actually arrived on Friday morning and visited several sites. I hear he took in a New Jersey Net game with Jay-Z and B. It is funny how all our sinful politicians bowed down to him. By Sunday morning he was at Yankee Stadium where he was booed and hit with a bottle in the face ala KRS-One. They did provide a treat for the first 100 boys under the age of 14 at the gate, they all got a fondling. Was it me or was this guy on every channel meng. I missed out on most of the playoff basketball game between the Lakers and the Nuggets. I hope i never meet this guy in the bathroom, i might use his white robe as a towel. On a serious note he did provide a blessing and hope to the people and children who are ailing in New York and all around the world. God only knows we need more of that. 40Master

Amy Winehouse Caught on Camera Using Drugs again.

Amy Crackhouse was caught on camera smoking what appeared to be a joint. Though it's an improvement from crack it does say that she is not drug free. Amy is supposedly working on some new music. Insiders say that it is further from the truth because Amy has pulled out of recording. Then again it must be tough for her since you can't smoke microphones. Put a vocal booth in a crackhouse and she'll record a album in two days. Look for a release date in 2009,2010, etc. 40Master

Soul Train Music Awards finally comes to an end.

There will be no more Soul Train Music Awards. The Soul Train Music Awards which was the brainchild of Chicago DJ Don Cornelius decided it could not compete with the various award shows like the Grammys and the BET Awards. The show was the first to aim for African-Americans who were not cast in a positive light in the 1970's. Sadly in recent years blacks biggest stars like Beyonce and Mary J. Blige weren't showing up to the event. I grew up to this show that featured afros and platform shoes. The days of the brown turtleneck and bellbottoms are over. Can we also kill off the "Source Awards". I guess guns and violence killed off this institution. I knew this award show was doomed when Fat Joe was slated to be its next host. Peace, love and soulllllllllllllll. 40Master

Rap freestyle battle becomes deadly.....

A rap freestyle battle in Detroit becomes deadly as one man is killed. Antoine Tramble 27, pictured in my post became enraged after an opposing freestyler dissed him on a rap. He left the venue after the diss and came back with a gun and shot the guy and fled. When did a freestyle session and the dice game merge? Maybe this guy really wanted to be a ganster rapper. The key is to rap about things you don't do and get rich off it. Good luck rapping in jail fool and remember soap rhymes with dope. Don't forget to order your E.gradioonline t-shirt. 40Master

Salsa KIng Willie Colon endorses Sen. Clinton for President...

Hillary Clinton announced that the Bronx born Salsa King Willie Colon has endorsed her. Weeeeeepaaaaaa! You go girl with your bad self. She's trying to court the all important salsa vote. We all know we loved her husband but she still has lots to prove to the younger democratic voter. No word yet if she will join Willie on stage and bang out the congas or she can skip it and rob some hub-cabs. She needs to start wearing chancletas, hair rollers and wear a vata (old lady house dress). Let's all vote people it's out right. 40Master

Akon is outed as a studio gangster...

R&B artist Akon whose biggest hit was a song called "Locked up" appears to have fabricated and lied about his criminal past. Thesmokinggun.com reports that Akon never spent 4 and a half years in jail as he claims for being a ringleader of a stolen car ring. In fact the most time he spent behind bars is 2 months on a gun charge and was given 3 years probation. He does have a half dozen arrest and did steal one BMW but that's it. They seems to think it's a marketing ploy to seem tougher and sell records. The only street he been on is Sesame Street. Is he the R&B version of Will Smith. This dude sold millions of records on stuff he never did. His street cred is as stagnate as mine. What is going on? Has Hip-hop become the lastest reality show? Remy Ma is more of a man than he is. His new name should be "Acon man" 40Master

Blind New York Governor throws out ceremonial first pitch at Shea Stadium....

New York Governor David Patterson and his wifes 2007 income tax filings show that they only donated $150.00 dollars to charity. That charitable donation went to the Salvation Army in the form of clothing. The items probaly were condoms and the boxers he wore when he cheated. This guy is one cheap bastard. Then again i'm not suprised because he did use tax payers money to help pay for his sexual trysts in hotels. In related news, Governor Patterson threw out the first pitch at last nights Mets-Washington baseball game that honored Jackie Robinson. How cruel is that? The good news is that he threw out the first pitch, the bad news is that he threw the ball and it hit somebody in the stands. No word if that fan is suing. In pre-game warm-up practices he kepted throwing the ball to right field. Apparantly his spokesman was fu*king with him. I'm out. 40Master
