A source close to JD has confirmed that Dupri has in fact been terminated effective immediately. A formal announcement of his departure from the position as President of Island Records Urban Music which he has held for nearly two years, may come as early as Thursday Jan 8. The Island Records Urban Division was created within the Island Def Jam Music Group a short time prior to Dupri’s hiring in February 2007. In the position, he oversaw the label’s entire urban music operations, reporting directly to label Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Steve Bartells, President of Island Music and COO of the Island Def Jam Music Group. Oakland Police Shooting Protest Turns Into Riot

Previously Ras posted the video of a police officer shooting an innocent man who was handcuffed lying face down in the back killing him. The victim was 22 year old Oscar Grant of Hayward. According to The Associated Press hundreds of protesters gathered in the streets of downtown Oakland to condemn the shooting and call for criminal charges against the officer Johannes Mehserle, 27, who resigned from the transit agency before he was to be questioned by investigators on Wednesday. The protest began peacefully but quickly turned into a riot with a few of the protestors lighting garbage cans on fire and throwing bottles. Police in riot gear responded by throwing tear gas into the crowd. About 15 arrests were made. Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums tried to calm the angry protesters

"Even with our anger and our pain, let's still address each other with a degree of civility and calmness and not make this tragedy an excuse to engage in violence," Dellums said. "I don't want anybody hurt, I don't want anybody killed."

Yeah, well neither did we. The people are tired of the injustices that plague our streets at the hands of those who protect and serve.They better make an example out of Senor Murdering Mehserle or it's just going to get deep.

General Motors Cancels 50 Cent's G8 Truck

General Motors has confirmed that they will cancel 50 Cent's Pontiac GB Sports Truck. The two-door, six-foot bed vehicle was scheduled to debut in North America in 2010. 50 Cent first introduced the G8 sport truck last March at the New York International Auto Show. In a statement to the Associated Press, Pontiac spokesman Jim Hopson stated the cancellation is part of a restructuring plan within GM due to the recession and the company’s long-term “vision for Pontiac.” He also clarified that the canceled truck does not change production plans for other G8 vehicles. Basically what GM is trying to say is that they will only cancel 50's edition of the GB truck. That's kind of foul...Curtis can't catch a break! First his reality show "The Money and the Power" got canned and now this. Hopefully his album "Before I Self-Destruct", which is scheduled to hit stores February 3 will do better.
