Artist On The Grind salutes "Donny Goines"

Donny Goines is a unique breed of artist. He is one of the very few who has utilized the Internet in addition to his street grind to build a serious buzz that many underground artist today wish they could achieve. Donny hails from Harlem N.Y. and its evident in his swagger and driven entrepreneurial spirit. At the current time he runs his own t-shirt company ,a DVD company entitled BARS and is working on an album produced by platinum veteran producer

Dame Grease who was the man behind many of DMX's early hit records and one of the biggest anthems of last year "Big spender" with Freeway and Jay Z. He is also
working with another platinum producer Kwame that has been delivering hit after hit the last few years.

Donny has been on the music scene since 2003 and has since been featured in most of
the top hip hop Internet sites in the world from Allhiphop.com to Ballerstatus to Nah Right etc. In addition he has been featured in many of the most respected hip hop magazines on stands today such as Rap fanatic and Foundation magazine. He has shared the stage with legendary artist like MOP to some of the hottest newcomers like Joell Ortiz and Sha Stimuli. His music embodies that authentic hip hop feel that is lacking on so many of the records playing on radio stations across America today.

The 7Th annual Underground music awards is upon us this month at the legendary
BB Kings in the heart of Times Square and Donny is nominated in the buzz factor category and its well deserved. Rapper Lloyd Banks who is not related to Tyra spoke to a reporter from the New York Daily News about his spanish heritage. His mother is from Ponce,Puerto Rico and his father is African-American. He first visited the Island in 2002 when 50 cent's first album "Get Rich or Die Trying" came out. He was childhood friends with 50 and that is how he got on with him. Jacob "The Jeweler" sues Wyclef.

Jacob "The Jeweler" claims that in 2006 & 2006 Wyclef brought several items worth a total of $765,000. Wyclef only paid $319,000 for the watches and other jewelry. I guess he must of took some of the stuff on credit like the rest of us. As we know the the company's founder Jacob Arabov is doing time in a federal penitentary for lying to investigators probing a drug ring. Will Rick Ross' Music Career End? - The Survey Results Are In!

When we asked our viewers whether Rick Ross would have his music career end despite his scandal, it appears that most of our viewers said "No"! I suppose this tells us that his music speaks for itself, and being a fraud is meaningless now in the world of Hip Hop Entertainment. Here are the results:

66% of our viewers said his career won't end.
23% of our viewers indicated that his music career would end!
9% of our viewers indicated that they are not sure.

So while a majority of those Hip Hop heads indicate that his career won't end you still have some who are actively angry about this scandal. Bottom line is though that it will likely not impact his sales in any way. Best of luck to the biggest fraud that we seen thus far!

My people, mi gente...Kudos, shout out and accolades to Ms Alicia Keys for being Extravagangsta with hers. She said No to Cigarette Company money for her July 31st show in Indonesia. Here is what a statement on her website on the matter

“Alicia Keys has set a positive example that should be followed by musicians and entertainers worldwide by demanding the withdrawal of tobacco industry sponsorship of her July 31 concert in Jakarta, Indonesia,” Myers said. “We applaud Ms. Keys for taking quick action to disassociate herself from the tobacco industry and to prevent her name, image and talent from continuing to be used to market cigarettes to children. It is critical that the tobacco company involved, Philip Morris International/Sampoerna, and concert promoters immediately end the sponsorship and all tobacco-related marketing and branding associated with the concert.”

Update:NYPD Officer Who Attacked Innocent Cyclist Stripped Of Badge!

Thankfully, the NYPD officer who bodychecked the bicyclist during a Times Square Critical Mass bike ride was stripped of his gun and badge (!), assigned to a desk job, and is currently under investigation. Here is a list of some rather frustrating facts in the story, in which Ivan Sanchez had posted yesterday

1. The victim's name is "Christopher Long, a 29-year-old resident of Bloomfield, New Jersey who works at the Union Square Greenmarket". Oh, and he's also an army vet.

2. The cop's name is Officer Patrick Pogan, and he's a rookie. Also is 3rd generation NYPD.

3. It was a random assault. Mr. Long did nothing to deserve this other than ride in the group.

4. Mr. Long wasn't wearing a helmet, and got all bruised up.

5. He spent 26 hours in jail.

6. The cop tried to say the biker ....

rode into him purposely, while the video clearly shows the cop throwing his body in front of the biker. Also whined in his report about getting cut on his arm, and being called "a pawn in the game".

7. Mr. Long was assaulted while on the ground when the arresting officers, "put their knees on top of his head and were smashing him into a phone booth".
This is a great case of YouTube justice, and wouldn't have happened without that video taken by the tourist in Times Square. After Gothamist posted yesterday, a number of other news outlets picked it up (currently over 200 listed on Google News), including the AP, so this is no longer a little NYC blog story. I'll let them take it from here. But, let it be known, victims of injustice...the Internet's got your back!

Rick Ross Finally Speaks, and is Still Denying Allegations! Is He Crazy?!?

During an interview on Friday (July 25), Ross addressed the latest rumors surrounding his Correctional Officer Days and he insists that he is a victim of a massive smear campaign. He spoke to Phoenix, Arizona Hip-Hop station Power 98.3 (KKFR-FM), when asked about his past employment he simply responded "Don't believe the hype."

"In the game we in, it’s real competitive," Ross told Power 98.3 FM. "Competitors have to do what they have to do to eat. We making the best music. Y’all seen the BET Awards, y’all saw the magazine. We the biggest in the game, we the best in the game. Just keeping it real. And anytime somebody can attack my character, like I said, you get nothing from the Boss. I don’t give haters the pleasure. "When you get to my level, you’re a great conversation piece," Rick Ross calmly explained. "I’m big on the blogs, I’m big on the magazines, and I appreciate that as an artist. That’s why I’m in the game. I got in this game to introduce people and to make great music. And that’s what it’s about."

He goes on to tell his audience to "Keep the Rumors Coming." He also says that he and Foxy Brown were no longer an item. Sorry about your break-up, but honestly Mr. Ross enough is enough and you need to own up to this mess, your fans need an answer not just a brush off your shoulders.

Surprise, Surprise… NYPD Attacks Innocent Person

I’m not Rick Ross so I’ll admit that I work with police any chance I get… No I’m not a paid informant but I do work with the VBPD’s Gang Unit trying to steer the youth away from gang activity.

One of the officers I work with volunteers his time to do community outreach after hours. And while some officers are having a few drinks after work joking about the scumbags they smacked up… he’s with me explaining the pitfalls of gang life to those who care to listen.

The moral of the story is there is good and bad in everything. Unfortunately the bad in the NYPD often beat on unsuspecting New Yorkers every chance they get hoping there is no camera phone in sight. In this case a rookie officer, Patrick Pogan, is captured assaulting an unsuspecting bicyclist.

My biggest beef with this is the fact that when it happens to a Caucasian person in midtown Manhattan its front page news. When it’s Rebel Diaz they won’t even touch the story.

A warning to NYPD officers who believe they have the right to continue to assault the people they swore to protect and serve. Eventually there will be an uprising and you’ll have to pay for all your years of unethical torturous behavior.

I’m not an advocate of violence of any kind… Not against innocent civilians and not against police officers… But I hear the whispers and the voices are growing louder. It’s only a matter of time before karma catches up. And when she does she’ll be expecting to collect on those debts.

Trick Daddy denies leaking photos of Rick Ross

There has been alot of speculations that Trick Daddy leaked the photos of The Boss during his earlier years as a Correctional Officer. Trick Daddy goes on to say:

“We don’t deal with rap beef down here,” Trick says. “That’s not in our character. That’s not something we do. We’re the only city that ever gets compared to other people’s entire states. Whoever put my name in this is really attacking all of us. “I told Ross he needs to have better people around him,” Trick Daddy says. “He needs better publicists, so that he can avoid even being asked those type of funny questions.

When asked what Trick Daddy thought about the whole Rick Ross ordeal he simply responded "So what if he was, That just means he avoided something a lot of us in the hood haven’t". Listen I understand alot of the industry cats are upset with Rick Ross, but the truth of the matter is C.O. are gangsters with a paycheck, so he didn't completely lie about his persona. At the end of the day he is a very good artist, he got a nice flow to him; will this hurt his career, probably not. It would be nice if Mr. Ross would own up to it and call it a day, but if not "It is what it is"!

Southern Hip-Hop Gets Unwrapped

Hidden Beach Recordings, home of Jill Scott, Mike Phillips and Cornel West (to name a few), prepares to release Vol. 5 of their Unwrapped hip-hop/jazz hybrid series on June 24th, 2008, titled: THE COLLIPARK CAFÉ SESSIONS. This new compilation focuses on an "exciting and inventive contemporary jazz collection of southern hip-hop's club-ready singles that have been etch into pop culture," states Joe Wiggins. The first single is "Get Low", a jazz rendition of the hit song by Lil Jon and East Side Boyz. David Cavanagh who runs his own little website suggests that Jemal may have engaged in disreputable business practices. David wrote a 100-word item on his blog about Jemal never repaying a loan that he got from two Texas investment companies. This battle came into play when Jemal and his SSJ Development company announced they would be doing construction on the Riviera at Sheepshead bay. The blogger lives near there and opposes it. The reason i put this up is that we blog and sometimes we can put our opinions in them. Free speech should never be brought to court unless their threats or hate. What do you think? Justin Timberlake hosted ESPN's Espy Awards last week. It is the Oscar's of sports. Justin Timberlake admitted that when he met Michael Jordan he pee'd on himself. He needs to stop peeing himself a river. Justin hosted the award show and had to be edited after making a comment about N.B.A star Paul Pierce. He was joking about him getting hurt and then coming back to play in the same game. JT joked that Pierce was back on the court "shucking and jiving". The minute he said that the audience full of stars went silent. Did he go to far or what?. I think he thinks that since his hair is kinky and he sings R&b that he can get away with it. Flashback with the Fat Boys!

When people speak about hip hop history I very rarely hear them mention the Fat Boys. First hitting the scene as the Disco 3 in 1982, they became early pioneers of the movement and in their prime you could see them in commercials, videos and movies alike.

Enjoy my flashback video of the week:

Mark “Prince Markie Dee” Morales held it down for Latinos in early hip hop and along with Damon “Kool Rock Ski” Wimbley and Darren “Buffy, the Human Beat Box” Robinson, they brought us memorable hits like, Fat Boys, Can You Feel It and Stick Em’.

I never felt all the mainstream music they made like Wipe Out with the Beach Boys or The Twist with Chubby Checker but I always loved the Fat Boys in their truest essence when they were representing early hip hop and the streets. Yeah, that was before you had to be a gangster rapper to be considered representative of the streets.

I would have loved to see a Fat Boy reunion but that was made impossible when Buffy (R.I.P) passed away of a heart attack at the age of 28 in 1995. He reportedly weighed in at 450 lbs. I wish Big Pun (R.I.P) would have learned from hip hops tragic past.

According to Star Magazine, Mr. Combs is ready to give marriage a chance. He is quietly telling close friends and family that he and singer Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura are heading to the chapel. “He told everyone to keep it extremely quiet because he didn’t want it to get out, but you could tell he was excited,” says a source. “Diddy said they hadn’t set a date yet, but he wanted his family to hear the news first.” Diddy revealed his engagement to the Connecticut native at his son Justin’s eighth-grade graduation ceremony in Riverdale, N.Y., on June 5. The hip-hop megastar met 17-years-younger Cassie after signing her up to his label, Bad Boy Records, in 2006. Diddy ended his 10-year relationship with model Kim Porter last July. Gucci Mane Arrested, Alleged DUI

Early Wednesday morning Radric Davis better known as Gucci Mane was taken into custody by Henry County Police following a routine traffic stop. Gucci's vehicle contained a small amount of marijuana. The Atlantic Records recording artist was also found to be under the influence of drugs. Gucci Mane was taken to the Henry County Jail in McDonough, GA at 6:00am, where he was booked under charges of Driving Under the Influence of drugs, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Only to be released 3 hours later after posting $3,356 bond.

DJ K-Swift Funeral Arrangements Released

The city of Baltimore continues to mourn the loss of 30-year-old DJ K-Swift, funeral arrangements for the Ambassador of the Baltimore club scene have been released. The New Shiloh Baptist Church will host the memorial services on Friday. Immediately following the viewing will be a special wake, with tributes by the Edgerton Family and K-Swift’s extended family at Radio One’s 92Q Jams (WERQ-FM). On Saturday, following a wake at 10am, friends and family will gather at the Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University to pay their final respects, with funeral services starting at 11 am.
K-Swift is said to have jumped into a shallow, above-ground pool early Monday morning, never to resurface. Friends pulled her out of the pool and called 911. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital. While the autopsy is still pending, authorities believe alcohol played a role in her death. Once again our condolences go out to the Edgerton Family.

Why Rick Ross Owes His Community an Apology

The entire phrase, “keep it real,” should forever be retired from this moment on. And if Rick Ross doesn’t apologize to his Miami-Dade community his career should follow suit.

With the smoking gun confirming that Mr. William Leonard Roberts did indeed work as an officer for the Florida Department of Corrections. I think it’s safe to say his fraudulent lifestyle of being a cocaine kingpin and boss has been fabricated for the sake of selling records.

Ross is about as real as the cartoon caricature of him in this article. And as he continues to make records about being a murdering thug, hundreds of victims continue to be murdered in his old stomping grounds of Carol City in Miami-Dade County yearly.

But oh yeah… hip hop doesn’t have anything to do with that right?

A quick search of the internet yields stories of children as young as 9-years-old being murdered – caught in the crossfire of drug and gang warfare in Miami. And more recently you can read about the latest arrest in the shooting death of Redskins star Sean Taylor who was murdered in his Miami home. The youngest charged in his murder is 16-year-old Timothy Brown.

My guess is that Tim Dog and his boys wanted to get paid so they could shine like Ross and company. In the process of chasing their version of the hip hop American dream they murdered a 24-year-old star athlete in his prime. Worse, they murdered someone’s brother, son, family member, teammate and friend.

Honestly my people. I’m getting tired of hearing the victim’s families always crying out about the violence plaguing our communities but only taking a stand against the crime after it hits close to their home.

This fight belongs to all of us. And if you’ve ever had that tear jerk moment when reading about an 8, 9 or any aged victim being senselessly murdered. You need to boycott the music that glorifies this type of lifestyle.

When I say glorify… I mean those that no longer walk the streets of those hoods rhyming like they still do. In other words if you are still living in the struggle and being our reporter about what’s going on in your hood, to me – that’s not glorification. That’s spitting the truth!

Am I a hypocrite?

Yes, of course I’m a damn hypocrite. Back in the early 90’s I plotted with my boys to rob the rapper Slick Rick for the same reason these young boys tried to rob Taylor – the money! My boy Chippy was actually murdered for his role in the attempted robbery… enough said!

But it’s those life lessons that have brought me to this place and allowed me to see just how twisted my reality was back then. There was no one there to save me from myself except for my newborn baby girl. Now I’m on the outside looking in trying to find the answers to stop the madness.

I believe Rick Ross is a part of the madness. And I believe he owes his community an apology, his fans an apology and all of society an apology for glorifying death and destruction and forgetting… stay with me people… forgetting to tell us that is was all an act for the sake of profit.

It’s called blood money… studio gangster take five… coming to a theater near you!

My people, mi gente...Parece que El Senor 50 Cent (looks like 50 cent) wants to pour more CHEESE on the chulapa! 50 cent is suing Taco Bell over a promotional letter sent to 50 cent asking him to change his name for a day to 79 cent or 99cent

"We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change. We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to 'Think Outside the Bun' and hope you accept our offer."

Bueno, (well) 50 and his lawyers responded by filing a suit for engaging in unjust promotion yesterday in a Manhattan.

"Without seeking or obtaining Jackson's authorization, defendant Taco Bell made him the star and focus of its nationwide advertising campaign by using his name, persona and trademark to promote Taco Bell's business and products," the documents also accuse.

50 cent was not happy.

"They crazy, man," 50 told radio personality Angie Martinez in June. "They sent a memo out. I don't wanna talk about it. We gonna take legal action. ... I guess they did that for promotional purposes. It's not good that they did that. They didn't have to do that"

Poor Senor 50, he just can't stop people from targeting him. I wonder why? I'm out.

Nas [ tickets ]' new, untitled album sold 187,000 copied during its first week in US stores, enough to earn the veteran rapper his fifth No. 1 album. With that showing, Nas knocks Lil Wayne [ tickets ]'s "The Carter III," which sold 105,000 copies over the past week, into the No. 2 spot, according to Billboard. "The Carter III" had spent three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, which is based on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports. Big up to Nas, but Wayne is still killing it!

I guess Nas had a point when he filed a petition yesterday and rallied against Fox Media today for allegedly painting a negative pictures of African Americans, including that of Barack Obama. However - this recent CNN footage is simply the icing on the cake. In the CNN coverage, a person is quoted as saying:

"I Just Don't Know If I Can See A Black Man Makin A Change, Only Black Man I Ever Seen With Change Is Had A Cup In His Hand"

"I'm just now — over the last couple of months — starting to feel that it's going to be right and it's something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it," Dr. Dre told USA Today. "In a perfect world, I'm shooting for a November or December release."

I predict sometime in 2009 or 2010 or...you get the picture. (Just kidding) Anyways I am actually now reinterested in getting my hands on it, with features from Lil Wayne , Snoop Dog, 50 cent(of course) and producers like Warren g, Just Blaze and Scott Storch

"I'd describe it as the most advanced rap album musically and lyrically we'll probably ever have a chance to listen to," Storch told MTV News in 2004.

" Scott just might be able to hold on to his production empire up with the sales off of this piece, say what you want but Dr. Dre and all these collabs is going to be sick, Puro Fuego!! I'm glad to see the Doctor didn't forget his people. Can't wait!

Scott Storch Is About To Lose His Production Empire

An AP report on Scott Storch's collapsed empire is attracting a lot of attention. The article states:

"Just a few years ago, Scott Storch was one of the top producers in pop music, living in a $10.5 million mansion on an exclusive Miami island, driving a phalanx of luxury cars and dating the likes of Paris Hilton and Lil Kim."

"Nowadays, Scott Storch, 34, is missing in action. He owes over $500,000 in real estate taxes and had a warrant out for his arrest when he failed to show up in court in a child-support case last month.

He has not had a top 10 hit in three years. He still has his waterfront marble mansion, but his lawyer, Guy Spiegelman, says Storch is attempting to refinance it after a 'catastrophic occurrence this year' resulting from 'mismanagement.'"

It looks like he is destined to be on VH1's "Where are they Now" series in just a couple of years. In the article Scott Storch complained about Christina Aguilera and Beyonce giving him no love as well on their recent albums. He stated:

"'I told [Christina's people] I needed a private plane to get out to L.A.,' he says. 'I had to bring equipment, clothes, my people. You want me to move my life from Miami to L.A. for six months, and you can't get me a plane to do it? She didn't go to bat for me. And I truly cared about her as a person and a friend and as an artist.'"

WTF? A Private plane for someone who has not had a hit in 3 years is not a good look?

They are saying that there are several internal conflicts, and shareholders are just not pleased with it's current performance. The question will be, who will replace him? Can an Executive truly sustain a career these days with the majors? I am not certain. Record Companies should hire tech savvy Executives who specialize in Social Media Marketing to run their company. These traditional execs had great success in the past, but its time to make room for new blood.

The concert is to take place on September 5th at Radio City Music Hall. Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, The Black Eyed Peas, Kid Rock and Keith Urban are among the few stars set to perform for this event. This will mark The 5th Annual Fashion Rocks concert to benefit charity. NICE!

Kanye West Gives back to our Iraq War Veterans

Mr. West has linked up with MTV to honor our Iraq War Veterans in the upcoming show The "Stronger", which shows Kanye surprising young veterans in their homes. He will listen to their problems and offer advise to the young men and women in trying to get back to normal life after fighting in the Middle East. Kanye says, "There are hundreds of veterans out there who are falling through the cracks. They make the ultimate sacrifices for us by laying down their lives, but it seems like a lot of them just get forgotten about. I know my music inspires and helps a lot of people, but you can always do more." I really admire him for taking on this project, but it isn't an easy task. Our soldiers have experienced a world of horror over in the Middle East, I can speak on a personal level having my own brother fight in Iraq. The show will air on MTV on July 28.

Rick Ross Won't Let It Go!

Mr. Big Boss is NOT letting the rumors get to him, at 1 a.m. last night he sent MTV 2new freestyles. The first freestyle was done over Snoop Dogg's "Life of da Party", he rhymes, "Bitch, I'm the boss and I’m laughing at your blogs.” Later he went on to brag, “I’m the glue in the streets, meaning I can get you stuck/ The world knows where the fuck I’m from/ Sell rock, 20 chains and I never lost one …/ Heavy on the block, never on the ‘Net.”

What is so wrong with having a 9 to 5? If you really look at it Correctional Officers are some of the biggest bullies in the system, and they get a paycheck for doing "Their job"! I am really losing respect for Rick Ross, it's not that serious, own up to the situation at hand. If it was you...fine, and if it wasn't you then produce legit evidence that it wasn't you! This ish is getting old REALLY quick!

Reports of Rick Ross formerly being employed as a Correction Officer for the state of Florida have been Confirmed. Smoking Gun.Com and AllHipHop.Com have reported that after some investigative work on his records, Rick Ross (real name William Roberts) did work as a C.O. According the the articles, it states:

"The rapper's social security number matches that of a William Roberts, who was assigned to the South Florida Reception Center in Dade County. The 32-year-old rapper was appointed a prison guard in December of 1995 at the tender age of 19. He left the job in 1997. In a previous video interview Ross denied the allegations and labeled pictures of him in a correctional officer’s uniform were fraudulent.

So the photos of him hanging out at C.O graduation are true. Never the less here are my thoughts.. Ross has made some great music. If anything, he progressed in advancing his career. So what if he got caught out there? He probably should of admitted to it in the first place. The reality is that 90% of the rappers in this business are not as real as you think they are anyway. I understand why this is wrong, but who ever said the Correction Officers are legit dudes? They hustle too, and they are the primary reason why drugs get into these facilities. He probably left because he saw more money hustling outside after connecting with dudes inside. So what if he stretched the truth? What's the big deal? I can see Trick Daddy remixing his track "Boss" with the anthem of "Im The Biggest Fraud That you Seen Thus Far!!"

Ross (real name: William Leonard Roberts) was appointed a prison guard in December 1995 at a salary of $22,913.54, according to the below personnel record, which was provided to TSG by Jo Ellyn Rackleff, a DoC spokesperson. The rapper’s social security number is identical to that of the jail guard. According to the official document, Ross was earning $25,794.34 when he left the department in June 1997. After graduating from the DoC training academy, Ross was assigned to the South Florida Reception Center in Dade County (the lockup is one of three statewide that serves as an intake facility for new prisoners).

According to an Associated Press article, Rapper Lil Scrappy (Darryl Richardson) has been released from jail. According to the article, police spokesman Marcus Hodge says Richardson got into an altercation with his sister's boyfriend Friday afternoon after the couple argued. Richardson was stabbed during the fight, but the injuries weren't serious.

Police arrested Richardson and charged him with felony marijuana possession, felony use of a weapon during a crime, misdemeanor obstruction of police officers and misdemeanor battery. The boyfriend wasn't charged.

Does anyone know the statistics on the average number of rappers per year that go in and out of jail? It seems that if there is anything rappers seem to be good at these days, it would be getting locked up.

African American Murdered By White Taser Trigger Happy Police Officer

My people, mi gente...I am so sick and tired of coming across news like this. Last January in Winnfield Louisianna, not far from Jena Louisianna, a healthy 21 year old African American man by the name of Baron "Scooter" Pikes was killed, murdered by a police officer who was arresting Pikes for an outstanding warrant. The officer tased Pikes Nine times during a 37 minute period. The arresting officer Scott Nuggent who is white shocked Pikes with the taser gun even as the victim was unconcious and was being pulled out of the squad car posing no threat to anyone. In between the shocks it is reported that Pikes was pleading for mercy. Grocery shoppers who witnessed the arrest said Pikes was heard saying"Please, you all got me. Please don't tase me again". He was tased the first time as he was lying down and he was handcuffed , tased because he didn't stand up fast enough after Nuggent commanded him to stand. Nuggent would tase Pikes several more times, wanna know why?....

Nugent stated that he continued to tase Pikes because Pikes kept falling down and refusing to get back up. What? Que? What the friduck? How is he supposed to remain standing when he was just tased with electric volts? Now months later they are ruling his death a "Homicide".Oh really, thanks for the enlightenment. On the death certificate,the cause of death is listed as "cardiac arrest following nine 50,000-volt electroshock applications from a conductive electrical weapon." Esos policias son unos ascerosos! (Those police officers are dirty and nasty)

What's crazy aout the whole thing is Pikes is the first cousin of Mychal Bell of the Jena Six and Senor Asceroso Police Officer Nugent is the son of a police chief who committed suicide after some scandal and Officer Nuggent also tased Pikes father last year , oh yeah it's crazy, and the town of Winnfield is full of some of the most corrupt government officials. DJ K-Swift Dies In Baltimore, Maryland

This is a very saddening story, earlier today the popular female DJ K-Swift died in a swimming pool accident in Baltimore, Maryland. The details surrounding her death have yet to be released. K-Swift aka Khia Edgerton, age 28 at the time of her death started DJ’ing at the age of 11. Some of her influences in the game were other DJ’s like Cocoa Channel and Jazzy Joyce.

"I'm at a loss for words right now,” Murda Mami founder 1st Lady El told AllHipHop.com. “K-Swift was not only one of my Murda Mami sisters, she was a great friend. She knocked down doors for women in this industry, so humble and hard working. Legendary in the club music scene and the number one DJ in Baltimore. She will be missed."

K-Swift was a member of the the Violator-All Star DJ Coalition, as well as a member of the all female squad the Murda Mami’s. We send out our condolences to the family, friends and fans of DJ K-Swift.

This is becoming seriously sad. Per TMZ..

Earl "DMX" Simmons was pinched today for allegedly giving a false name and Social Security number to Scottsdale's Mayo Clinic in April. Simmons supposedly used the name "Troy Jones" to weasel out of paying for $7,500 in medical expenses.

The rapper was arrested outside of a Phoenix Ariz. mall on a felony charge of taking the identity of another and booked in the Maricopa County Jail, according to My Fox Phoenix.
