Artist on Da Grind: Brooklyn's Own Mancini
So who is Mancini? Well if u ask anyone in New York City's hip hop scene they will tell you he is one of the most promising mcs/songwriters on the radar in New York's underground movement
He is a 2 time underground music award nominee and his grind is undeniable!! Mancini hails from Bushwick Brooklyn and is of sicilian descent. Definitely no newcomer to the game. His first big introduction to the game was back in 2000 with the smash single "Que tu Quieres” produced by the legendary hit producer DR Period whose produced everyone from MOP to AZ, Papoose, and Smoothe The Hustler. The single featured Papoose and Trigga Da Gambler and instantly became a hit on Hot 97's show, the 5 o'clock free ride hosted by (DJ Red Alert). The single was picked up by AV8 Records and was a hit in many places such as Florida, Texas, etc.. At this point mancini began producing and releasing independent mixtapes with the help of his manager and fellow Real Lyphe Members.
Mancini has not only solidified himself as not only a exceptional songwriter but a die hard lyricist! A more current and also well respected release of his mixtape is called "The Knock Out King" (Volume 1) that has such guests host as Mister Cee, DJ Camilo , and DJ Ted Smooth. This is the mixtape that gained Mancini his underground music award nomination for best male rapper in 2006 and again in 2007. Most recently graced the front of Allhiphop.com with his new single’that incredible hulk’ bein nominated as heater of the day! he’s currently stayin busy performing in various venues around NYC and abroad!!
Currently Mancini is in the studio working on his next mixtape "The Knockout King - Volume 2" and his forthcoming album has yet to be titled! So keep ya ear to the streets, your eyes on the game, and make sure to block yourself at all times cause Mancini is is here to deliver the knockout that even former middleweight champion and legendary Italian boxer Boom Boom Mancini couldn’t deliver!!
