It is amazing how Hip Hop History is now starting to repeat itself again. Just like Afros and corn braids came back in style a couple of years ago, rope chains just recently resurfaced into Hip Hop fashion - it looks like UpRocking (A form of Break dancing) has formed a new derivative of its dance form to a newly formed Hip Hop Urban Dance craze called Krumping.

While the dance form is slightly different from uprocking, there is an incredible resemblance between the two. Chris Brown is probably the most notable celebrity making this dance craze extremely popular. The dance supposedly started in South Central Los Angeles. In addition, movies like Rize have documented this form of dance. Today - it is wildly popular with youths around the world. With kids in Australia Krumping while writing graffiti, a Krumping Dance Contest, and dedicated web sites like KrumpKrump.Com to the dance craze. If you ask me, I like the style of uprocking better which came out in the early 80s. However - that maybe my age speaking. When I spoke to my younger cousin of 18 years of age earlier, he never heard of uprocking and thinks that Krumping is the hottest thing since Jim Jones' last album! :-0 I think I am getting old.
