My people , mi gente..New York's own prolific talented social conscience rapper. Before Mos Def and most artists currently defending the Jena Six, NYOIL was one of the first rappers to speak out about the Jena six. He may not be a main stream Rapper but he is definately on his way. He is repping all of us who face many struggles in our hip-hop culture. He is our voice. I do not say that lightly. He has put out a track on The Jena Six and it is fire!! He is also nominated for subsonic artist of the month at www.proghiphop.com
